Luca Niculescu, eighty seven and a half percent. Up twenty nine points in a day. Sorin Grindeanu, the Social Democrat leader, under four. The jump came Tuesday afternoon and evening, Romanian time. And Grindeanu fell from almost fourteen to about three in a couple of hours.",{"speaker":18,"text":95},"Quick reminder for anyone who just joined. Why does Romania need a prime minister?",{"speaker":19,"text":97},"Because the last government fell on May fifth, in a no confidence vote. Since then, three candidates have tried. One gave up. Two lost the vote in Parliament. The last one, Siegfried Mureșan, got a hundred and eighty two votes. He needed two hundred and thirty three.",{"speaker":18,"text":99},"And Niculescu is number four.",{"speaker":19,"text":101},"Number four. A career diplomat, not a party man. First, at around three in the afternoon: the Social Democrats, the biggest party, would join Niculescu's government. With technocrats proposed by the president in three key ministries: finance, defence and foreign affairs. A clear majority by Thursday, or on Friday he signs a decree dissolving Parliament. This afternoon, the Social Democrat leadership meets and decides. Thursday, the program and the ministers go to Parliament. Friday, the reported dissolution deadline. And the vote itself is expected next week. A month ago, that one was around seventy four. And by October thirty first, which a month ago was around sixty one? About four point seven million dollars have traded on this. It's a market on a calendar, not on a yes or no.",{"speaker":18,"text":169},"How did we get here?",{"speaker":19,"text":171},"On June first, Anthropic said it had confidentially submitted a draft registration to the SEC, the US securities regulator. No price, no share count, and it depends on market conditions. In August, the Financial Times reported an IPO in October.",{"speaker":19,"text":173},"Then the date started to walk. In early September, Reuters reported a listing days before the US midterms. Later that month, Forbes said it slipped to November. On October first, Bloomberg reported marketing could start the week of November ninth. The IPO is doing what every software project does. It's ninety percent done.",{"speaker":18,"text":177},"So why does the market still give it two thirds by the end of the year?",{"speaker":19,"text":179},"Reason one: the paperwork exists. The confidential filing was in June. And according to Reuters, which says it saw the prospectus, 2025 revenue was about four point six billion dollars, up twelve times in a year.",{"speaker":19,"text":181},"Reason two: today. According to CNBC, Anthropic is meeting large institutional investors at its headquarters in San Francisco, and showing third quarter numbers for the first time. You don't usually do that for an IPO you plan to cancel.",{"speaker":19,"text":183},"Reason three: the size of the prize. Bloomberg reported a target valuation of up to two trillion dollars. That would make it the largest IPO ever. In May, the company raised money privately at nine hundred and sixty five billion.",{"speaker":18,"text":185},"Now the other side. Why did the December dates drop fourteen points this week?",{"speaker":19,"text":187},"Honestly, we didn't find a news story that explains this week's drop. What we did find is the calendar. The full prospectus has to be public at least fifteen days before the roadshow. For a roadshow on November ninth, that means around October twenty third. As of this week, nothing public.",{"speaker":19,"text":189},"Then there's what Reuters says is in the prospectus. Nearly a quarter of revenue comes from just two customers. And about five hundred and eighteen billion dollars in commitments for computing power and infrastructure.",{"speaker":19,"text":191},"And there's the mood. SpaceX listed in June at a hundred and thirty five dollars. Four days later it hit about two hundred and twenty five. By late July, it was around a hundred and thirteen. Around October twenty third, the latest date for a public prospectus if the November ninth plan holds. Then the week of November ninth, and Thanksgiving.
